Why do many older women have wrinkles on their upper lip?

I don't see this on guys. But it is apparent on many women. Is it from

smoking? Is it from make-up?

its because they purse their lips and it makes wrinkles form and from sundamage

Smoking can definitely be a culprit. It's awful for your skin for several reasons. Carcinogenic and terrible for circulation. Also as women age they begin to lose collagen and elasticity in their skin, the lips are one of the first things to go :( Also if someone has had a bad lip job/tattooed on lip liner/etc. it can cause this.
