Why do many people cover them selfs in makeup nowadays?

Even kids as young as 12 coat them self's in make up nowadays.

Like especially on network sites you just see girls COATED in make up,orange as you like,cheap and tatty extensions with bleach hair,and so much eye liner covering there eyes you can hardly see their eyes!

Also the mascara is Clumped,and even more clumped

they probably wear make up because they have spots on their faces but dont know about eye, make up might be ''in'' right now

ok heres my thing...i find that if my hair looks good and my lips look good i feel good. i cant stand yukky greasy hair. i wash my hair and i feel better! so make up really isnt an issue for me anymore! it used 2 b but now its not. ive learnt that make up doesnt ake u look any thing beautiful its who " you are". i dont wear much make up if anything i have big pouty lips and thats because i use lipgloss and thats it. i do wear blusher but only because it make me look flushed and healthy! i dont need 2 but its my choice. i wear mascara too because i like my eyes 2 look "open". but i hate anything else. i dont like gals who trowel make up its awfuln looks nothing special! ive never worn much make up realli ive never over done myself. i have a nice natural beauty and with or without make i look ok. like i said tho if my hair looks nice i feel good!

Advertising and TV and magazines provide girls with a really warped sense of normal.  They make it "fashionable" to wear all this makeup so that you have to go to the store and BUY-BUY-BUY.

Really, if you're trying to get a date, boys would rather you join them at a basketball game then spend hours putting on all that makeup

i got into a habbit of it...i used to wear it everyday- even to school, and alot of times putting it on i was lik id probably look better without it, cause i do wear alot but i hate the feeling of having no makeup, i feel so bare and lik "dont look at me" im trying to slowly coax my self off it over summer....once you start wearing it loads you feel really naked without it..plus everyone gets used to you always wearing it, so you dont suddenly want to look pale and c**p...

Insecurity mostly. But also this is the way girls are taught to behave these days. they think that the make up makes them somebody they are not .

I agree although not all girls over do it with makeup there are some who just put a little blusher on. Bleach blond hair ( Fake )

Well thats all you see in the magazines,movies,t.v,commercials...Every... wants to look beautiful, but I think people have forgotten beauty is only skin deep...and in the eye of the beholder... Thats why so many little girls are so pressured and women also to look beautiful. I wear make-up but maybe two times a week. And I don't pile it on just something simple..

I think some people do it because they feel like they need to. They feel like that's whats in and they feel like that is what will make them fit into society. People might think that thats whats beautiful. Some people hide behind their makeup and have worn makeup so long, they feel insecure without it.

now the orange skin is something i'm not to into myself. bleached hair is never beautiful unless you're a playbunny (not) or born with it. i wear makeup but not the point i look ridiculous, thank you.

we're surrounded by all these 'perfect' people that makes us look inferior so we try to imitate them and coat ourselves with makeup to make us feel better about how we are when the truth is we're perfect the way we are. these young teens are so impressionable and they're just being brainwashed by the media to be something that they're not-something that's not normal

Because beauty has a whole different meaning nowadays and perfection is expected although as we all know not realistic.

peer pressure, media, western propaganda, and low self esteem are mainly the causes of this.

when i was 13 i started wearing make up because, girls were bitchy and i wanted to fit in so peer pressure was why i started wearing make up when i was young.

when your young you want to look older and more like a woman thats why u wear make up but when you get old you wear make up coz you want to look young, its a vicious cycle and will only stop once people accept them selves and realize that natrual beauty is the best.... no one is perfect we should just be grateful for what we have, and society should stop having such high expectations for women.

people have changed alot. maybe they think they look good or someone complimented them on it once (how i don't know). Some people just like to wear lots of make up to fit in along with weird hair extensions.
