Why do many people in other countries care what Americans think?

I often see a lot of questions on here from people in other countries asking Americans for their opinion on a particular issue. "What do Americans think about ... ?" or "Is it true that most Americans hate [country name]”? I’ve also noticed that when an American does the same (asking questions about people from other countries), they’re suddenly labeled as an ignorant American for not knowing everything about that particular country, but when someone from the other side of the world asks a question like what type of cars American drive, most of the Americans who answer seem glad to answer their question without labeling them as an ignorant person who doesn’t know basic facts about the USA. People in other countries often seem interested in domestic issues that only effect Americans like health care, education, how Americans live, etc. But why?

They care because america has BOMBS. It's like a kid with a box of matches. Be afraid and concerned. Like Hiroshima concerned

I think America is kind of a train wreck other countries can't look away from.

Well obviously the specific person who asks a question is the only one in any position to say why they asked it.  But in general, I imagine people ask about US domestic issues because they're curious.

I think because Americans are seen as the leader in almost everything, because of the amount of advance technology US has been producing, everyone seems adamant that Americans are the ones to follow. So how Americans think, will unfortunately, and ultimately affect the way we want to think and try to lead a "cool and as advance" life as the Americans. Also, Americans are known for their liberty and freedom as human beings, whereas most ppl ard the world can onl envy at that kind of lifestyle.
