Why do many people think it is not right to attemp to “bring back” extinct species such as the Tasmanian tiger? What are the conservation implications of these types of actions?

  2. People believe that somehow Nature/God/Fate selected them for extinction, and its not "right" to go against them/it. Its really just a question of people's moral values. On the other hand, I believe that we should go ahead and try to bring them back. We did destroy them in the first place, and we would learn a lot from trying to recreate them.

  3. I wouldn't have a problem with bringing them back, if it were possible, but others might (for the Tasmanian tiger) because of the reason it was killed off in the first place: they killed farmers' livestock.

    Also, dinosaurs wouldn't "bring back" any diseases. That's not how it works. Any "dinosaur-specific" germs would've died out when they did, or evolved to change hosts.

  4. I think that would be really cool. Especially the species that were hunted by us.
