Why do many people type like "tywo yr oldz?!!!11one!" on the internet?

Being fairly new to the Yahoo answers game, I have been profoundly disappointed by the complete lack of simple sentence structure, punctuation and basic grammar in many of the questions and responses asked on the site. I certainly wouldn't ask anyone to write complicated thesis material when asking a question but since when did "typpping WitH no capitliyzation or punktooaction" become standard internet practice? Do people write like this in school? My god, how do they talk?

Because they're just plain lazy and they think it's cool. I find it really annoying as well.

Some are hackers ("l33t", or "leet" i.e. "elite"). The majority are just used to text-messaging.

get over it honestly. What do you expect? Yeah it can be annoying, but deal with it. You choose to use this site and ask such a lame question like this. You should be the one thinking why am i wasting  my time asking    this futile question.

Personally  i have not come across OMG LOLZ!!111!! ur ryght! i wyyl go too clas t0morroz + wryTe teH papperz lyke tihs kauze noo ones carez anywayz! LOLZ!! WTF BFF ROTHFLMAO!!" content .  It is due to the fact that when we type/text  we can use this kinda of language so it is quicker.  It is weird I  agree but this is what society has succumb to. I don't concur with it but live with it.

No, people don't talk or write like this in school. It is simply for internet/sms language.

However if it this is causes such a concern to you, why don't you just stop using the site.

Its just that sometimes we all make typos. Its also easier, considering for some, typing is actually harder than writing. They would like to get to job done as quickly as they can.

I've noticed that too, it's so annoying!  They're just young, dumb and trying to be cool.  Don't school's teach the basics anymore...like the difference between "know" and "no" and "there" and "their"?

I can't agree more!  I am totally frustrated by the same thing.  I feel like answering them all and correcting their mistakes, but that would take forever. To me it's just laziness and ignorance, nothing more.  Sometimes I blame the education system and the lack of education with the teachers, but I'm sure they're all beating their heads against a brick wall too. What can you do?
