A lot of them get annoyed if blacks or minorities in general vote for Obama, they get mad at the thought of a woman in power (no I'm not referring to Hillary, just in general). I know there are people out there who are prejudiced against white people and I don't think its right, but the majority of those who are bigoted are white heterosexual male Americans.

They still have most of the power in this country, they still hold the majority of high-level corporate jobs, most of them run just about everything, so why do so many of them complain about others? The minute a black, hispanic, asian, female (of any race) expresses any sort of thing that doesn't cater to the average white American man's ideals they throw a fit and act as if they are suddenly "oppressed" or something?

I'm only asking about the white-American males who are like this, I'm not criticizing or pinning this on ALL white American males or white males in general because I know there's good ones out there too.

  1. I grew up in Texas, and there are many men like the ones you described here.  There is a car in my neighborhood that has a huge confederate flag on it.  I swear I want to crash my car into it everytime I pass it by.  But anyways yeah, anytime a minority gets a typically white man's position, they blame it on affirmative action.  Okay maybe they are just right person for the job??

  2. I think that SOME of them do feel oppressed to some extent.  Their dads and granddads were on top of the totem pole, and here they are having to answer to women and 'new' Americans.

Like you, I'm not at all referring to ALL white men, but to some who were raised to think of themselves as top dogs.

  3. I fit your description, white American heterosexual male but I don't feel oppressed by minorities. I voted for Obama in the primaries. However, I do sometimes feel slighted by diversity regulations at certain companies. Most minorities have an advantage for getting a job because the company has to prove it's not racist by hiring the minority over me. If they are better at the job that's fine, but most of the time that's not the case. I guess I feel slighted that I am in a group that it's still okay to be discriminated against. But overall, I don't mind.

  4. How many minority males consistently complain about white males?  How come any white male who expresses pride in his roots is looked at as a bigot?  After all, on a global scale, whites are the minority - we just don't beat the subject to death.

  5. hmm...Do you know my ex-husband or something??

  6. quit your complaining, crybaby

  7. There are people like this in every race. You will always have extremists no matter which way you turn.

  8. I don't think reacting to views that contradict your own would fall under prejudiced, unless you merely disagreed because the opinion was coming from someone of another race, gender etc.

I also doubt that "most" white males are bigots as you describe, and it is a select few that hold power or high level corporate positions; that power and wealth means nothing to those who are not part of that elite caste. You might as well comment on how much wealth women have based on Britney Spears and Paris Hilton...

  9. I'm not one of the ones that thinks or behaves that way so I can't really give you an answer.
