Why do marshmallows or peeps melt in the microwave?

im doing a science project

and i need to know why and how they melt in a microwave

please help

They get hotter, so the molecules move faster, so it does hold it's shape anymore. At least I think.

well first they are just sugar..sugar melts..and two..how about using that internet and computer you are on to do your own research.
