Why do marshmallows or peeps melt in the microwave?

im doing a science project

and i need to know why and how they melt in a microwave

  1. They get hotter, so the molecules move faster, so it does hold it's shape anymore. At least I think.

    And "Social science" doesn't mean actual science, it means more like mind things.


  2. well first they are just sugar..sugar melts..and two..how about using that internet and computer you are on to do your own research.
