Why do men say that they are better drivers then women?

Doesnt it depend on the driver not whether they are male or female?

men when it comes to parking and maneuvering the car are generally better than women. this is because men have a better spatial orientation by average. but don't be sad women, on their part, can do a task and talk at the same time :)

I do believe that women are better drivers, but lousy parkers!  It was even shown that they have slightly less good spatial visualisation than men (an evolutionary thing due to men being the hunters thousands of years ago, therefore they would have slightly better depth and spatial perception, in order to successfully hunt animals).

It's a defence mechanism.

It's been proven that men are worse drivers, that's just how it is. More men are in car accidents than women, and more of them speed.

I think its kind of true because of a woman's behaviour... findind stuff in the bad, makeup at the stops, blabla very often, phone, etc...

oh and they tend to be not interested by fixing stuff while a guy would tend to...

If you look at the costs of car insurance, it's cheaper to get insurance if you're a woman than if you're a man! The reason is that men are in more accidents than women are.  ;o)

So if you look at those stats, women are actually better drivers than men are!

No,  men's brains are bigger than women's therefor they can think quicker than women,  whereas women take longer and are not as rational in there concentration and decisions

Yes,i agree that gender is out of line when it comes to determining the skills in driving.I can relate to this very well because I've been a professional driver for more than 17 years.I even went abroad working as a private driver,and i am a woman.For me driving depends on how well you handle your fear.Because the mechanics of driving is very easy anyone with 90%of courage and only 10% of the physical attributes can drive.I'm saying just 10%of the physical part because we can't deny the fact that even the handicaps can drive ,don't they?
