Why do men do this stuff?

A guy I really care for started saying another woman had a better body than me in front of our friends one night.He was really angry.When I asked another man friend of ours why he did that,my other friend said that he might actually be in to me/ fancy me.If that is the case,why insult me?Bear in mind this man is in his forties

Any man in his 40's that would say something that insensitive and that ignorant doesn't deserve you.....forget that LOSER!  HE isn't exactly a 23 year old....he shouldn't be talking....

He insulted you because he is an a$$ plain and simple.  Why do you care for him at all, now?  The way I look at it, if any woman ever embarrassed me like that, I'd have nothing more to do with her.

when men are together talking, we are usually putting each other down.  

dat usually means, we cool, with the group.  

we do not encourage one another and when we go to the bathroom, we DO NOT TALK!

we like to push each other around and put one another down.  dat means we like each other.  we are actually being nice.

It could be that he is insecure or on the other hand it might be his sense of humor which is nested within that insecurity. I am guessing that alcohol was involved and sometimes what is in the subconscious comes out rather confused. Weird thing I guess. Sometimes when you really love someone you push them away out of fear that letting them close will leave you vulnerable.
