  1. I think that it's just a natural instinct to protect the girl. Because we girls are the "weaker s*x". (I'm not putting myself down, I'm just stating on the public eye)  We're a little more delicate than guys. But if you think about it, most guys are close to their mothers, and if someone talks trash about them, they'll defend them. And same thing with little sisters. Guys feels that it's their responsibility to watch out for their younger sister, and make sure she doesnt get hurt. With a younger brother, you feel that since they are a boy, they should learn to take care of themselves.

I'm a girl, and have almost been in a fight [with a guy] because something was said about my mother. And as far as my little sister goes, [who is 16], I'll take up for her. But I stand back and watch, until I KNOW she needs my help. I don't jump in and baby her.

FYI: I was the only granddaughter (of 6 cousins) until my cousin, Michelle, came along (when I was 7). So theirfore, I'm a "tomboy". I'm not a girly-girl. I grew up with them, fighting, biting, scratching... everything that the boys would do, I would too. So pretty much, if someone says anything about my mom or sister, I'll say something back.

When my sister came along, I roughed her up too, just like was done to me. She defends herself, when needed. And if I had a baby brother, I would probably rough him up everytime our parents weren't watching.

It just an instinct thing with guys.

  2. because they are girls..girls need to be protected by men..

  3. I get totally upset, and defensive when someone says anything about my family. You can talk about me all you want, good or bad. But if you talk about my Mother, or any member of my family, you're disrespecting me. Now it's personal. Expect trouble. Fast, furious, and everlasting.
