Why do more and more rappers from new york and chicago are starting to wear the run dmc like plastic glasses?

rappers who may be unknown to alot of youall like "the cool kids" " mickey factz" just to name a few...this style is cool and all but i am afraid its going to take off and burn out-and it wont be cool anymore
