  1. The majority of uninformed Americans think the whole world relies on them. Fact of life.

  2. You mean those somewhere around 60 soldiers killed in Iraq?  Yes, thats way less than the over 5000 US soldiers killed in this stupid war.

Oh yeah, who said Americans think Canada relies on them?  I rarely think of Canada, except when I see them vacationing in my beautiful state.

  3. I've never heard anyone suggest that. In fact, on a day to day basis most of us don't even go around thinking about Canada. Call it our American ignorance if you will.

And can you give a source to show that more Canadians have died than any other country's soldiers?

Edit: To Shakes: okay, in that one particular area, but throughout the entire war as a whole more Americans have died than Canadians.

  4. I never knew that people thought that. This is new for me. I always thought that Canada was really independent, and didn't rely on any other countries and what not.

Soldiers are soldiers, whether they are Canadian, American, or anything else you can think of. It's not about who's losing more soldiers, it's about losing the soldiers. The troops should be home, but they're not. All that's important is respecting the ones that went down, and putting effort into getting the rest home. War is bullshit for anybody that knows its name.

  5. Who cares, it's only Canada! It's not like THEY matter. What do the Canadians got going for them? Hockey, Mooses and maple syrup. OH WOW! Gee, I'm sure glad Canada is here to make sure I have enough syrup for my pancakes! You know what, Canada? F*ck you! What are you gonna do aboot it, eh? Take off hoser! (But RUSH still TOTALY rules!)

Oh yeah, the guy that asked this totally hates black people.

  6. I read your answer to dudes question about blacks being a disgrace. Guess what, I pride myself on being black and making more money than you will ever see in your life time.

  7. I have never thought that, and I have never heard any American suggest that.

  8. because we're holding you over our head so mexico doesn't bite you.

    Duh.

  9. Our media doesn't tell the full story and it's in their perspective. I don't think Canada relies on us, I mean Canada has assist us as well so we help each other at times. I hear Canada even helps provide us with oil and we got more from Canada than Saudi Arabia.

I don't know about the military things though. If what you say is true about Canadian soldiers then I feel bad that heroes aren't recognized by their brothers.

  10. Canada does rely on the USA for military support.  No country comes close to American military might.  After all, one aircraft carrier battle group is more firepower then most counties, including Canada. (and note that america has more then one aircraft carrier battle group).

Sure Canada helps us in 'our' war, but that is politics, not military need.

And Canada sure relies on the USA for trade.  I live close enough to get a Canadian radio station, and they go on and on about how everything the USA does effects them(like passports to cross the border might put Canadians companies out of business

  11. Simply put... americans are idiots! vote for best, its true!

  12. Canada does rely on the U.S. but, the U.S. relies heavily on Canada, as well.  We are strong trade partners, and Geographic neighbors, with long-standing friendly relations.

  13. ive never heard about that to be honest. actually canadians are rarely ever mentioned in american culture. the only time you really hear about canadians is on south park where they make fun of you guys.

but otherwise i havent heard it either.

  14. Most americans are not aware that Canada is its own country.  Most believe that Canada is just a northern territory that is sparsly populated.

  15. NEWS TO ME .

  16. I've also never heard of anyone in the US thinking that. But, many Americans, who don't know much, do think that the US rules and that everyone relies on us. On a different note, I do know that Canada has a much better health care system then the US.

  17. For Pazazu..............

Canadian death rate in Kandahar outpaces that of U.S. in Iraq

Tom Blackwell, with files from Allison Lampert, CanWest News Service; National Post

    Published: Thursday, January 03, 2008

TORONTO - The death rate among Canadian soldiers fighting around Kandahar has outstripped not only that of U.S. and British troops in Afghanistan, but Americans in the bloody Iraq war as well, the forces' own figures indicate.

A Defence Department analysis of casualty rates in the first year of operations in and around Kandahar - obtained by the National Post under Access to Information legislation - confirms unofficial reports that Canada has suffered a lopsided toll in the conflict.

Canadian soldiers died at a rate 2.6 to four times higher than the British and Americans in Afghanistan and two to 2.6 times higher than U.S. forces in Iraq, according to the April 2007 number-crunching by Barbara Strauss, an official with the Forces' health services group.
