I keep hearing boxers say that boxing is all you need in a street fight and that boxing could defeat all martial arts including military martial arts! These guys are retards! What really ticks me off is when these boxers start bragging around boxing could easily defeat military martial arts, and that military martial arts are useless, and that boxing is the only way to defend yourself well in a street fights. What retards! As a guy who has a dad in the Marine Corp.,this ticks me off a lot!

  1. Again, not the case. A Boxer would not get in a "Street Fight" because a Pro-Fighter has his hands registered, and would lose his license to Box if he did, Plus he could be shot trying to street fight where the rules are, "Anything Goes". It must be another problem Israel faces? I dont know, But it's not here in the States, at least not that I have ever heard of. Take Care.

  2. You should head on over to http://www.fightjunkie.net/forum they are having a discussion about some of the arts and even posted some hilarious videos.

  3. Because you do a lot of running while your a boxer.  A good run is always better than a bad fight, and most street fights go bad.  If survival is the goal, run.  It may not be macho, but its effective.

  4. Dude Breathe!!! Most discipline WORLD CLASS boxers will defeat just about any man in the streets simply because of their great conditioning, even military workouts cannot compare to a Olympian athlete who is in shape. Boxers have great hand and eye coordination once they are able to make you miss  your punches don't affect them, then you are in a world of trouble. BOXING IS NOT  all you need to survive in the streets, lets keep this competition in the ring and keep our streets safe. Have you ever met any world class boxers. Most respect their sport and keep their hands to themselves. I as an ex-fighter feel sorry that you feel that way. hope you feel better and not let people get to you about their own opinion on things. Good Luck Friend!

  5. first of all a professional boxer wouldn't get into a street fight b/c in doing so he could lose his license which would take away his career. secondly most professional boxer are good enough to beet most people anywhere even if they have trained in martial arts. there is a reason that these people are professional fighters and don't just do it for a hobby

  6. well coming from a boxers point of view, you must realize that the average joe on the street are terrible fighters period. i've been working in a county jail for almost 10 years and still haven't seen a fight last more than 2 minutes before both guys are ready to give up and stop swinging. a boxer would at that point put more pressure on these guys by throwing straight powerful punches, now on the other hand i feel a true street may be able to take out almost any form of organized fighting but the average joe wouldn't have a chance against a well train fighter of any sort. period

  7. it just depends on the fighter...... a well conditioned boxer could take on a fighter with martial arts experience and military training and vice versa if the person is really well conditioned and really good at what they do.....thats all that matters.....and yes boxers aren't trained in situations that the military trains for so they shouldnt say stuff like that... the way i see it.....the winning person will be the better conditioned and better experienced and somebody who fights with everything they got......id pick military training over boxing anyday though thats just me.....im joining the army in a few months
