  2. If you have put in more attention on the world trend, you should have know that today, Chinese is as important as English in most industries. Many people, including from the Europe are learning Chinese now.

    Thus, since this is a trend, don't you think the employers will prefer their employees able to speak both languages?

Singapore being a multi-racial society, English is widely use by malays, indians, chinese, eurasian, .........etc, but dont  be surprise some of our malays, indians, eurasian community speaks very good mandrains and dialects which sometime put me to shame, so there is no biased toward any community when come to be employed if they meet the citeria set out by companies.

  6. The reasons could be varied. English is mainly a pre-requisite, being the main "language" of business.

    Chinese probably because they are family-run business, where

    Mandarin may be required, or even dialects spoken on occasions. Or the position require dealings with China.
