Why do most homeless teens wear punky clothing and have punky hairstyles?

How can they afford these clothes, and how can they afford to upkeep the punky hairstyles, like shown in the picture from the link.

Their homelessness is a social statement made by youth, like me hiking the Appalachian Trail when I was young. They probably get American Express checks from momma.

they're depressed, they probably find those old clothes somewhere or get them from a used clothing store for cheap or they are donated to them. They probably cut their own hair and steal the hair products from drugstores, dollarstores....etc.etc.

but they probably steal a lot of their stuff since they can't afford it.

It's so easy to do hair .. The style is a statement..Most gels are stolen or borrowed /bar soap works well..razon blades cut the hair and on the five finger list.. Clothing is retrived from the thrift store and leather jackets? well they have a life of their own. You'd really need to experience the life.. It can be dangerous, self inflicted, or a true way of living due the social and economics of the state and country...
