Why do most hotels require you to be 21 to check in?

That's BULL SHIIIIIIIIIIzzle....I'm trying to go to California to see my boyfriend and I can't stay at his mom's cuz shes being a *****. I'm 19...are there any places around LA where I can stay that require you to be 18+?

sorry but the insurance underwriters require that you be 21 to obtain a room.There are places but you would have to call these or go on line to find out the details.

Note that some hotel chains and states require you to be 25 if you are single to rent a room.

Try looking at youth hostels.  As long as you have ID, you should be ok.  I recommend:
