  1. Let's see, it's close to their native home, the weather is good, things are cheap and you can get a maid and a gardener for a buck fifty a day.

  2. Because the weather is warm and everything is dirt cheap there.

  3. because life is cheaper in Mexico and more beautiful!!!!

oh and Mexico has the best food and beaches in the world world!!!!!

  4. mEXICO IS mAGIC. AND pEOPLE ARE NOT wACKO LIKE IN THE US.

  5. Low cost of living, beautiful weather and beaches, etc.  People go to visit or retire...not to build their lives.  US citizens go visit for the tropical, warm atmosphere, beaches, food, hotels...they stay when they've accumulated enough money in the US to retire and live a very comfortable life.

  6. Most of them relocate to Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia. Mexico is third after Argentina which is second. The only reason that many relocate in Mexico is accessibility. They can drive to where they want to settle.

Retired American Expat. Did the research and found Buenos Aires the best place for me.

  7. The living is cheap.

  8. Because life in these countries is cheaper. The different they all do it legally. The majority of Americans that go to Mexico do it legally and bring money to their economy, they don't go to take like their Mexican counterparts.

  9. Tourism in Mexico is way down due to the drug wars and violence. They have been declining at a rate of 4% per year since 2006. (Google it)

If the govenment doesn't get a handle on it soon you can expect to see less gringos and their much sought after American dollars

  10. Because there is no way that a person that worked hard all their life would be able to afford and retire in the US and live comfortably.

They have to move where it's still warm and cheap and of course close to home.
