Good paying job opportunities discriminate against the inexperienced. Inexperienced doesn't mean incapable.

Some people say "you shoulnd't lie because if they ever find out later, you are subject to termination".............that argument can be countered with

1. employers don't obsessivley recheck your resume after they hired you

2. jobs come and go, why would you think in this day in age jobs would last forever anyway?

3. Would you rather get the job (if only for while), or not get the job at all? It's better to get the job & loser it later, than it is to not get the job at all.

  1. Because some people have worked hard to put impressive stuff on their resume, and others just lie about it. Like what if you'd worked your socks off to get decent a-levels and put that on your resume and didn't get the job and the person who did get the job just lied about having qualifications.

  2. Several employers process a background check prior to hiring.

In addition to the initial background check, it is becoming extremely common for employers to do post-hire background checks (usually criminal checks).  So yes, they do conduct background checks after hiring you.

I don't feel it's "wrong", I just think it's a bad decision to make and you lose integrity.

I've learned that good paying jobs discriminate against the inexperienced because they want to put their money into someone who they are confident will be worth their time.  I started from the bottom and worked my way up, and had I just been hired at my current position - I wouldn't know what to do without my previous experience.

  3. One reason is that it will follow you.  The employer who was lied to and who terminated you will not hesitate to tell anyone who calls that you lied and are not to be trusted.  The longer you had the job, the less easy it is to leave the job off your resume.

Besides, do you really want that lie hanging over your head for the duration of the job?

  4. Very, very flawed thinking.

    1) Ever stop to think that an employer will check your references/former employers BEFORE they hire you? I reckon you didn't.

    2) Jobs come and go, sure...and if you have one, don'cha think it would be wise to hang onto it? Especially these days.

    3) Would it be better to fired for lying on your resume, and have that follow you to to the next job you apply for? I wouldn't hire a liar. Don't know anyone that would.

  5. I have never and will never lie on a resume. Even though I've found out that most of my previous supervisors have not contacted my previous employers, my current one did and I was so happy that I was completely honest because she said a lot of good things about me.

  6. You shouldn't lie ever, but you should embellish on the truth. instead of saying for example, "i was a house wife" you say "I was a domestic engineer" . Do you see what I am saying, you glorify and embellish yourself to a professional level and professionaly worded.
