  1. It's just a culture issue, we don't tend to think of things we keep as pets as being delicious.  I own a guinea pig and have a friend from Peru who's family kept an entire pen of them to serve on special occasions, she reminds me every now and then that he is "ready"(large enough).

  2. Because  in this part of the world, dogs are pets and many people consider them part of the family, like children, and to them, eating a dog would be like eating your own child.

  3. Because in the western world we raise beef and pork as livestock. Meant only for meat. Dogs we raise for pets or as animals to help us in our daily lives (hearding, seeing eye dogs...). This leads us to have a certian veiw on things. In the East, they obviously have a different view and rais dogs as livestock. Neither is right or wrong, they are just different cultural viewpoints. Also I'd imagine that many westerners picture in their heads easterners killing other peoples pet dogs for their dinner plates and not them being raised in the same style we'd raise pigs or cows. Which is something you could probably picture resulting in a biased veiwpoint.

  4. Because Pigs and Cows are not pets and dogs are!!!

  5. Cows and pigs are stupid. Have you ever talked to a cow? They are idiots. Pigs might be smarter, but they are also tastier. Dogs are smart and loyal, unlike vegetarians.

  6. I do not know, i like cat meat and  iguana meat, they are yummy...

    Chef Leminator.

  7. Because we have dogs and cats as pets so we're looking at it from a different angle.

I had this discussion with a person( may have been Korean) and they don't understand why we have dogs and cats for pets when they are food.

So it just depend which side of the fence your on.

If you had a pet pig( let's say) you couldn't fathom how someone could eat pork.

  8. It's just culture. We see dogs as pets and friends, not food. They see us odd because we keep their food as a pet in the house.
