  1. I'd like a good answer to this question too.  My husband lies all the time about nothing.  I overhear him lying to his friends and business associates, all the time.  I get caught up in his lies when I'm forced to answer calls from his customers.  He makes up elaborate detailed stories instead of telling even a very simple truth.  He also has a twisted way of squirming out of all of his fabrications and making me feel like a lunatic for even suggesting that he may not be telling the full truth.  I confront him on lies that have a direct negative effect on me or my friends and family.  The rest I let him think he's getting away with.  I've accepted it as some sort of emotional illness and I've learned to deal with it.

  2. lying does not come naturally but no person can ever not tell a lie

people lie because they are either ashamed of the truth or because

they would rather lie then make the person feel bad about his or herself and

sometimes people lie because they just want no one to know the truth about it so they make something up about the real truth

    hope this helps ♥

  3. Perhaps there is very little benefit in telling the truth.

  4. it prevents them from getting the consiquence. It's not natural instinct but it is actually more or less someting that is taught. its messed up, because with today's society there is such things as good lying and bad lying..

  5. They're most likely just ashamed of the only bit of truth they hold.

  6. because the truth hurts! at least that's what most people who lie think!
