Why do most people think that dating is about s*x??

this has been evident by the answers that i received on a question i asked earlier. in my country the parents dont let kids date

most ppl give in to hollow lust and cannot see or feel beyond their sexual pleasure... its quite sad.

I wish it wasn't so.. it makes it a lot harder when I just want to hang out, have a good time, you know? That's why I don't go to bars (okay, well I'm not old enough to go into a bar, but if I was, I wouldn't go anyway)

coz thats what it eventually leads to...how old are you? if your old enough you dont need to sneak out but if your not...then meet up with him on you usual time...dont bugger up your parents trust...

There are "s*x dates", where that is the primary reason for people meeting.

And there are "Courting dates", when people are looking more seriously for a relationship.

Sometimes it's hard to tell what people are looking for until you meet them. Just try to be honest about your intentions. As we know, some people are honest and some are not. That's why we kiss a lot of frogs!

there is to much emphasis on s*x ,and young people (and older ones)  often feel  pressured into it .a nice easy friendship is a better place to start.

Well, I guess because the media and movie/television industry in most western countries has portrayed the image that when people date it is inevitably going to lead to s*x.

And if they aren't going to have s*x, there is a lot of sexual energy and the people in the shows feel pressured to have s*x either by their friends or themselves.

That'd be my best guess.

Also, as a guy a lot of guys say that they have had s*x much earlier then they really have making a pressure amongst the others to either, 1. lie and say they have or 2. pressure the girl.

Most fathers witnessed this when they were in high school, and probably did the same thing and are just trying to protect their kids.
