  3. I guess if you pay the fee, then someone is being paid for working at home.  Only in some cases, it is not you.  I looked at some of these sites and they want money for giving information.  Did you try Hire a Freelancer site?

  4. Work at home "jobs" don't charge a fee, unless it's part of a union or an organization in which your obtaining leads to places that hire telecommuters.  In which your not guaranteed the position but given several places to apply for a job.  The places that charge a fee, are actually not jobs.  They are business opportunities in which you can conduct your business at home.  (Home based businesses).  These are NOT jobs.  They are simply opportunities in which you can make whatever amount of income you want, but you have to build a business, they are not just handed over to you that already generate income.  These fees covers things such as the primary companies doing your billing (you don't bill your customers, they do) Also in some cases the fees cover the Inventory in a warehouse, drop shipping, your license, customer service, rep services, etc etc.  Things that help you with your own business, but the cost of the thousands of dollars it would cost you if you had a sole business.  So there is a difference between home jobs and home businesses.  If it's a job and your directly applying for a position from the company, there's no fee.  If your obtaining information to work from home, taking an apt test where a company will give you a list of companies that are hiring in a position that you are hiring for, they cut out the time of your search and give you the list based on your apt test.  That is what your paying for.

  5. Because most work from home jobs are scams.  They basically work like:

    Step 1: Pay the fee

Step 2:  Get the info packet.  The info packet says to advertise "work at home and make big money"

Step 3: When people respond to that, charge them a fee and give them this packet.

It's just a pyramid scheme.  The two linked to by previous answerers are probably schemes, too.

  6. They are giving you the tools you need to work from home, so they want compensation for that.  Anybody can work from home, but you need to find out how, and that's why they're charging you.

My friend does medical transcription from home while on her maternity leave and had to purchase her own transcription set.
