I heard it from my older sister at her boyfriend's house.

Do wild cats and stray cats do that?

  1. It's true as several posters have pointed out that all felines big and small, wild and domestic do this with young kittens. It is perfectly normal. It is thought that they do this to keep the den clean and also to avoid tipping of predators of the kitten's presence by their scent
This is also why cats burry their f***s. It is more stealthy and they like to control their scent communication. If they want to communicate with scent they use their various scent glands and urine to do so.
