Why do moths and some beetles fly towards light?

Before man came along, the only light the moths could see was from the moon.  Therefore, they used the moon as a guide to fly straight.  Now that there are lights everywhere, the moths mistake the lights for the moon.

i mean properly. the bright light can be seen by them and that is y they fly towards it.
