  1. i have no idea...

have you also noticed how when you bite your lip and think you will get an ulcer you don't? mouths are weird. i used corsodyl mouthwash last time i had an ulcer, worked a treat - was a really massive one too!

  2. I don't know but my daughter regularly used to suffer mouthfuls of painful ulcers until we switched to a non-foaming toothpaste (Retardex). She now has the odd one occasionally and treats them with Anbesol liquid.  :0)

  3. they have probably been forming for a while. i think you get from bad dental hygeine and putting fingers in your mouth. but you can also get them if you are feeling run down. i think AMBESOL in liquid form is the best treatment. it gets straight to the ulcer unlike gels that always seem to slide around the mouth. i used  ambesol on my ulcers and also when my children were teething.

  4. The most common type of mouth ulcers are called 'apthous' ulcers. They are probably viral. (though no virus has been identified.)This means they should not be given antibiotics as there have no effect. There behaviour is similar to cold sores, in that they are recurrent, come out when we are run down and we never seem to develop immunity. Here the similarity ends, because unlike herpetic cold sores there is no treatment.

Each ulcer lasts about 10 days, but you can get further crops erupting, so each episode may last longer than that.

Ice,ice cream and cold soft items, become the easiest things to eat. Teething gels sometimes help. There are 2 prescription drugs for apthous ulcers, Corlan Pellets and Adcortyl in Orobase paste. Both are steroids, only reduce the nipping a bit and neither hastens resolution.

  5. there are various reasons why you might get mouth ulcers, and some people seem to be more suseptical than others

acidic food (citrus fruits or vinegar based foods etc ) ,

trauma , like slipping with the toothbrush  causing a small cut , or ill fitting dentures rubbing to make like a blister etc

    or

    A virus can cause them.

If the first 2 reasons don't seem to apply to you then contact either your dentist or doctor and they can investigate it.

Bonjella, Corsodyl mouth wash or even hot salt mouth wash (ouch!) and special pastels which contain a local anaesthetic substance can all help.

    Hope they clear up soon.

  6. not sure but the best thing for it is iglu it works great
