Why do mug/cup manufacturers always insist on making the lid s***w on with the hole facing the handle?

I bought a mug last night and no matter which way I start the hole and then s***w it on the hole always ends up facing the handle , so frustrating. Why do they create something like this ? don't they know people would hate it .

Just the way it worked out. Hopefully they will come out with something different.
