I have window air conditioners and they leak something fierce. Water just pours out of them. They are not cheap ones either. Not sure if it something that I need to do to them...have 3 and all three are different brands. Does this happen to everyone else and how do i stop it from soaking everything??

  1. Also as was said with pitch, after several seasons of use algae builds on the condensation tray blocking the ports or channels that let the water flow towards the intended drain port of the unit. Yearly cleaning can help eliminate this build up as well as algae control tablets. God Bless and good luck

  2. Alwayson is right on.  It's condensation.  Imagine a glass of ice water on hot day.  The outside of the glass will be sweating like there's no tomorrow.  Inside your AC units are tubes full of coolant used to cool the air.  Since the majority of the unit is outside in the heat they will sweat like that glass of water.  If this condensation is comming inside the building you definately have a pitch problem.  Make sure the rear of the unit is slightly lower than the front.

  3. window units make lottsa water, put a rubber drain line on it to carry the water away from the side of the house.

  4. Check the pitch of the units because all the condensation should be draining to the outside not the inside. They create a tremendous amount of condensation and if the units are not pitched right, this will be an ongoing problem.Check that pitch.
