Question:

Why do my clothes keep shrinking?

I wash my clothes on cold and dry them on low heat and tumble and they still manage to shrink. I don't want to air dry them because it's a hassle and it leaves clothes hard and stiff. Is there any why I can put my clothes in the dryer and not shrink them?

  1. use the air dry cycle on your dryer if it has one

  2. Stop eating donuts.

  3. Some materials shrink in the water, well before the drying.  Be sure to check labels.

Also, the thermostat on your dryer may be wacky.  Cheap enough to replace yourself.

If you have to call someone to do it, you'll have to choose which is cheaper - continually replacing your clothes or the cost of a service call.

  4. just air dry it...and then iron

    not a big deal

  5. Only cottons will shrink. But only the first time. And wool garments might shrink if dried in hot temperature. Polyester doesn't shrink. Your problem has me stumped. Is it possible the dryer is malfunctioning?
