I have 3 dogs who get along great, but they always are opening their mouth and putting the other's snout, ears, and legs in each others mouth and "*****" at each other. This is never aggressive or acutal biting down. This usually happens when one is getting attention and another comes over. It seems like when they don't want each other around they do this. Is this normal?

  1. Since they don't have hands to push each other around as kids would, they use there mouths its just fun and a form of playing that all canines seem to enjoy. If your dogs are like mine it some times sounds like they are gonna kill each other but its just like tag your it.In the dog world.Tilks Mom

  2. It's the dominant-submissive game.

  3. This is playing and perfectly normal.  Just like little kids (especially boys), they like to simulate fighting as it does gives "practice" and peacefully establishes dominance.

  4. That's just how dogs play together. If they are doing it when one is getting attention, it's probably just their way of wanting to be a part of it. It's not a jealousy thing at all, it's a very playful thing.

  5. mine do it all the time.  it's their way of playing.  dogs are like boys and like to roughhouse.  i wouldn't worry about it.
