Why do my ears feels better when i yawn?

I have ear infection and it is blocked. However when i yawn, it has a sound and my ears can hear more efficiently?

  1. When you yawn you are also equalizing the pressure in your ears, like what you do in a airplane. It might be that your ear infection presses against your ear drum and yawning temporarily relieves the pressure making you hear better and even making your ear feel more comfortable


  2. It's all to do with your sinuses. You have a very small tube that links the ear to the nose and throat. When you get an infection this often clogs up ( same with a head cold) When you yawn or pop your ears you are "hearing" the air passing through that tube.
