Why do my eyes change colors with my mood?

Question

My eyes are a moss green most the time. But as I'm talking with my friends, sometimes they point out that my eyes have just changed color. Sometimes its blue, or brown, and orange ish, and they even say purple. I'm assuming the purple is just a kind of blue, but still. It's not because of my clothes or the lighting, because we could be in one spot and nothing changes but my eye color. Is this rare?

I don't know the answer to that, but it's more common in hazel eyed people.  My husband's eyes are generally hazel, but they become and icy green when he's angry....

My eyes are a dark green, kinda like a dark emerald color - but when I'm angry or upset they go like a bright green and any specs of brown in them are gone.

Your color change is a bit drastic compared, but if its truly happening then thats pretty awesome :D

It is not rare, it is impossible.  The color of your eyes can change over the years, but not over a few moments.

i think you are having an amazing gift.. i wish i had the eyes similar to you..

if this is bothering you better consult a doc.

but i think its cool that your eye color change with your mood...
