Why do my eyes get watery when I make eye contact?

Sometimes, not all the time, when making eye contact my eyes will get really watery and it will look like i'm crying, i also stop blinking and have to force it which makes it look really weird. This can be embarassing in job interviews and when talking with friends. Why does this happen and how can I prevent/stop it.
