Why do my eyes hurt everytime i see something shiny?

i was at this restuarant and they gave me metal spoons and fork,and all of a sudden my eyes hurt,what is the reason and how to prevent this

When that one point of light reflection suddenly comes within the field of view, while the average brightness in the room are still relatively low, that light reflection could effectively burn a hole in the retina at the point of focus. Fortunately, this is associated with some discomfort, which is normal, prompting us to make an adjustment to protect the eye. This may involve turning away, squinting, or simply correcting the environment (turning the light reflection the other way).
