so i was chopping a pepper (spicy pepper) and my accident i touched my eye, my eye starts burning and tearing. i finally take out my contacts and wash my eyes out, and i throw out my contacts just so it doesnt happen again. that contact was the last one i had, so i opened a new box of contacts. so i go to put in my contact n my eye rejects them, they instantly close and get red and watery.

by the way this happened 2 days ago, so i thought i would let my eyes rest yesterday, but i tried again today, and the same thing.

please help

  1. It could be because you still had some of that HOT pepper on your finger tips and it got absorbed into the new contact lens.

Or you burned your eye really bad from the HOT pepper that you need to call your eye doctor and ask him.

  2. You still are recovering from the chemical burn from the hot pepper. You will most likely be able to wear your contacts in a couple more days. Call your doctor monday if it does not clear up by then.

  3. if you are on the contraceptive pill it makes you more likely to reject your contacts.

  4. your eye was probably STILL irritated. go to your eye doctor
