Question:

Why do my fingers not take command from my brains?!!!?

Why does it happen (sometimes) that when I am thinking about typing a particular word, my fingers just type a different version of that word.

For example, if I want to type "transferring", and I am about to type it, I type "transferred". I work with computers all day and send out a lot of emails- I type fast-, so I think it has to do with that.

But why do my fingers not take command from my brains?

  1. Maybe you're thinking of that word as you type without you knowing it. It happens to me. When I type "to", sometimes I type "the".

  2. sometimes when you type a certain word often your brain gets used to typing it. when you go to type another word that is similar to a word you are used to typing your brain will almost automatically type the word you are used to. i don't think there is anything wrong with your brain thinking a different word. after a while of typing the same word it kind of becomes an instinct. so don't worry about it and i'm sure it's fine. :)

  3. May be at this moment your attention   is detourned and you type automatically - your brain  is not gilty for this  - it is a question of concentration and good organisation/regime of the work.

  4. 2 parts of ur brain working at once can do that.

    Lol stay more focused~ :]

  5. if you type fast, your brain is probably thinking about the next word that you are going to type, or the next verb tense that you are going to use. your brain isn't just focusing on typing the current word on the page, it's probably going off on several different tangents at once.

  6. you are typing faster than your brain can take dictation. Slow down a tad.

  7. They do take command from your brain. If they didn't, they wouldn't be moving at all (unless you are being electrocuted, or live in sci-fi).

Basically, your brain associates these similar words and, on some subconscious level, gets mixed up.

That sort of thing happens to me all the time. For example, much of the time I'll be talking to somebody about one thing, and my mind will make a connection to some other subject and without meaning to I'll insert a seemingly totally unrelated word into a sentence.

  8. hmm, i'm not sure...but that happens to me too! i guess this could have just been a typing error or something.

  9. it's called a typographical error ^.^ we all have them.

  10. Maybe  your brain is overloaded.

  11. your fingers are confused, try to use your brain
