  1. If you are experiencing gums that bleed then you must know that bleeding gums are not normal.  In the early stage of gum disease which refers to gingivitis, gums usually appear red, swollen and easily bleeding.  At this stage the disease is still reversible, and can be eradicated by daily brushing and flossing with proper technique.  If the gum disease advances because it is left untreated, to a more serious stage called periodontitis, there is a serious damage to the gums and bones that support the teeth.  It a must to see a dental expert if you experience bleeding gums so that you will be advised and given the treatments that you may need once the dentist have finished checking your gum condition.

  2. Very mild gingivitis, probably.  Mine did the same until my dentist insisted that I floss daily.  Initially, the flossing increased the bleeding, but after a month or two it stopped.

My throat also used to bleed slightly in the morning (when I cough up stuff), and I asked the doctor.  She told me it's not unusual; a few blood vessels in s dry throat burst, nothing to worry about.

  3. Hi there!

The bleeding of the gums is most certainly due to that you have what is commonly refered to as "gum disease". Now don't get alarmed.. its very very common. As I understand it it is due to bacteria formed by minuscule food residues lodged between the teeth. Bits that don't clean up by just brushing teeth. It is very important to  floss your teeth daily, as  that prevents any residues. Would you have flossed everyday for the last few years, then you wouldn't have this problem. The good news is that if you start flossing now it would make a difference in your bleeding very quickly, even though the gums would still have the problem . Gums usually recede because of the problem. But If you don't do anything it will reach a point were your teeth will become loose and impending tooth exctraction will follow. The common name for this gum problem is "piorrhea" and there are some gum specialists you can go to to treat it, these specialists are called "periodontists", but of course they are very costly, as you need a whole series of appointments depending on how advanced you particular problem is!My advice to you is, if you can affort the specialist : do it, it would save you many hassles later!! 5. Causes for bleeding gums may be traced to neglected gums, teeth or mouth. Bleeding gums are a sign of an unhealthy mouth, as there is no natural cause for bleeding gums. Periodontal disease can be a cause for bleeding gums. Canker sores, receding gums, and other oral health problems may also be cause for bleeding gums.

Causes for bleeding gums may vary. Not all bleeding gums are a sign or periodontal disease. Eating sunflower seeds or chips may be a cause for bleeding gums. Finding out the cause for bleeding gums helps you decide which treatment is right for you.

Dental checkups can reveal some surprising information on your overall health. Thyroid problems, diabetes, leukemia, brain tumors, oral cancer, skin cancer, mental illness, Alzheimer's, drug abuse, bulimia, HIV, hardening of the arteries, and TB are just a few of the medical concerns that can be detected today by dental professionals. Research indicates that more than 120 medical conditions manifest themselves in the mouth.

If you have bleeding gums, you should seek help. If you already have periodontal disease, a primary cause for bleeding gums, then treatment should include eliminating anything that might be a cause for bleeding gums. Fortunately, periodontal disease can be prevented.

Get relief from bleeding gums, gingivitis and gum disease...guaranteed.

  6. Its probably Gingivitis, which can be helped with appropriate mouthwash etc.

  7. Are you pregnant? Because this sometimes happens in pregnancy and is common, If your male / not preggers.... it could just be a gum problem easily treated with antibiotics! See your dentist
