  1. that's mostly about posture while in bed...try to put him in a posture where his nasal holes are quiet free to breathe...when man snore is because their nasal cavity is closing narrow and the body start trying to breathe through the mouth and esophagus.if putting him in a much better posture doesnt really help, you gotta go and see a doctor

  2. He cannot help it and should go to the doctor, snoring is not normal and could mean several health problems.  He is actually not breathing when he is snoring.  It could be due to throat weakness, causing the throat to close during sleep; Mispositioned jawline, often caused by tension in the muscles; Fat gathering in and around the throat; Obstruction in the nasal passageway

  3. Vibrations of soft tissues located at the back of our throats cause snoring.  The palate, uvula and tonsils are the tissue structures that flap against each other when someone has too much tissue at the back of their mouth or when an obstruction is blocking the air passageway to the back of the throat.

People with snoring problems usually have one of the following....................

Poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat

    Excessive bulkiness of throat tissue

Long soft palate and/or uvula tissue in the back of the mouth

    Obstructed nasal airways

Snoring can be a serious medical problem because it disturbs sleeping patterns and deprives the snorer of necessary rest... therefor have your husband go to your doctor to get proper treatment!

  4. if he is always tired, falls asleep while watching tv and snores very loudly, he could have sleep apnea, and that can, in the long term, kill him. Go to the doctors!

  5. Karen, I just returned from a yearly appointment with a *Pulmonary Dr. I had a sleep study done 12 yrs. ago at a local hospital and it was found that I had sleep apnea. I'm not overweight and do not have adenoids or tonsils. I have a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine (air pump) that supplies only enough pressurized air through a hose and face mask. The snoring will stop immediately. The results of the sleep study will tell the Dr. how much air is necessary to stop your husband's snoring. The machine has a various number of settings which the supply store will set it at according to the Dr's prescription setting.

Run don't wait to get him an appointment to see a *Pulmonary Specialist. You'll both be glad you did!

  6. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW..? go to the doc

  7. snoring is mostly due to nasal air way obstruction, may be chronic sinusitis, or in some persons the lower jaw is in a posterior backward position, obstruction the nasal air way so the person breathes from mouth, some dental appliances may help if the cause is backward mandible, other wise diagnosing the cause is effective in treatment outcomes

  8. It could be any number of reasons, but it could be if your husband has gained weight that his wind pipe is being restricted and the weight is not allowing him to breath properly.

  9. Sleep apnea, sinus congestion, swollen tonsils, swollen adenoids, or being overweight can all contribute to snoring.  The best quick-fix, if he's not overweight, is to surgically remove the adenoids and tonsils.  Removing an adult's adenoids isn't bad, but recovery from tonsils removal as an adult is painful.

The congestion, adenoids, and tonsils all contribute to the sleep apnea.
