  1. ARTHRITIS!!!

  2. If you're overweight you need to start out slowly by walking and increasing your endurance. You're putting too much strain on your joints.

  3. I'm not a doctor, but this is my suggestion. It could possibly be chondromalacia. You can have it in one or both knees. I have it in both. One more so than the other. Pretty much the cartilage is rubbing off and your bones are scraping together, this is what's causing the crackling. Definanlty have it checked by a doctor. But, for the mean time, try to take Advil or Tylenol every 4 hrs or so. You don't have to stop exercising all together, just ease up on it a bit. Instead of running, try something else. And make that doctor appointment preferably with someone that specializes in it rather than a family doctor, but that depends on your insurance.

  4. If you are starting to run, you might be running too much and too fast.

It can also be your running shoes.  I only get knee problems when i wear the wrong model of shoes (for diff support) or my shoes are worn out.

  5. It could be a number of things. I've been having knee problems and I think you should do this:

    1. Take a few days off from running and bike or swim instead.

    2. Ice your knees for 15-20 minutes every three hours.

    3. Take Advil if your knees hurt after you bike or swim.

    4. Make sure your shoes are good and not worn out. If they are, or you're not sure, go to a good running store like Fleet Feet and they'll watch you run to determine what kind of shoes you need.

    5. When you do go running, warm up, stretch, run, cool down, and stretch again. Your knee problems could be from tight quads.

    6. Stick to soft surfaces. Concrete is TERRIBLE on your knees, so stick to grass or smooth dirt paths.

    7. If the pain does not subside after you stop running for a few days go to a doctor.

  6. try to stop exercising for a whie and if that doesnt work there is something wrong with them(not exercise)then go to the doctors

  7. ask a doctor

  8. Erm I'm only 16 however, so it could be a load of c**p that I'm telling you but you could have stiff joint at your knee more over, this is a very common running injury and usually affects those that have just started to increase the distance to 10 miles per week. This condition can produce a crunching or clicking sound while running which can be highly disconcerting. The pain may also increase when running downhill and even after periods of rest.

Furthermore it could be your cartridge, meaning it is becoming weaker every time you run, as a result it could be grinding away at your knee!

If i was you i would use the r.i.c.e method of rest, ice, compression, elevation. for a couple of days if you find your self getting better than start running again!

It could be fatigue also, so just rest for a couple of days if the pain still occurs see a DOCTOR!

  9. the weight might be wearing down your cartilage, and as for the skepticism for runner's knee, it might just not be severe enough yet. talk to your doctor or if you don't want to go to a hospital call askanurse.

  10. it's because u may not be so used to running so when u started u started to hard and your body couldn't take it

  11. it is common, do knee bends before you run for 3 or 4 minutes and it should help. during knee bend, your legs should never be totally straightened, your knees should stay behind your toes, and it should burn in your quads.

  12. Do you have good shoes? That can help a lot. Make sure you stretch before and after running. Also, are you running on pavement? Try finding a path that is mostly on grass or something else that's easier on the impact. Otherwise, it could just be the getting back into shape - try running for one minute, then walking for 10 minutes and alternate. When you are good to run for one minute, then run for two minutes and walk for 8, etc. Keep going until you are running the entire 10 minutes - but take it easy!

Congrats on your new workout schedule!!!

  13. My friend has a similar problem and began to drink this stuff called "Joint Juice" that works great. They carry it at Walmart and Costco so take your pick. This will definately solve your problem

  14. It could be because you are starting too fast.  I would lose a little more weight another way before running.  this could be very damaging to not just your knees, but you joints and muscles as well...

  15. Maybe cuz u said ur out of shape...maybe ur weight is  pushing down on ur knees??

  16. tired?

  17. HAVE U BEN TO THE DOC.

  18. The first two people who answsered are right. it`s either arthritis or you schould ask your doctor or A doctor. Maybe instead of running do a few stretches a day. If you live in Rhode Island, go to Core Fitness Gym they will give you possibly everything you need to know about working out. My big Bro works there! :)

  19. Some people that is over weight, there knees hurt. Like my mom complanes tha t her knees hurt. First see a doctor but still try to ecersize and lose atleast ten pounds

  20. It is pretty common to have sore ankles or knees after running. When you run you force your joints to support more than double your body weight with every step. Make sure that you stretch before and after you run and maybe take a couple Tylenol. Once your body is used to running the pain will probably not be as bad.
