Question:

Why do my legs kill while I'm running?

Lately when I've been running, my knees/ankles kill on the first impact of running, it goes away, but then my shins start to hurt. I probably have shin splints for sure. I'm not sure why, I never over-do-it.

Do I just need more support with shoes?

I tried resting for 4 days, but it didn't help. I don't know what else to do.

And another question, I don't get any cramps while running, but I do get this extremely bad pain in my lungs. It feels like someone is trying to squeeze my lungs in between all my ribs, a stabbing feeling. I have to totally stop running and walk for about 10 minutes for it to go away, and it returns immediately when I start again.

Can anyone help me on these questions?

  1. make sure that u are landing mid sole to toe and make sure u have extra cushioning in ur shoes also with ur lungs u might havea  collapsed lung bc a cross country runner this eyar ran up a hill too fasta dn thoguht he had chest cramps but his doctor told him he had a collapsed run u should get that checke dout immediately!

  2. Yes, the pain you feel is because of your shoes. I highly doubt it's your running form, but most likley your shoes.

Go to your local running shop and they will measure your feet, look how you run, and they will be able to determine a shoe fit for you.

The pain in your lungs is something you should go see your doctor about. If you have to walk for 10 minutes for it to go away, that is something very serious.
