Why do my metrocards keep running empty prematurely?

Everyday this week I've had this problem where a metrocard that i KNOW has money in it has come up as "insufficient funds." Anyone else have this problem?

  1. I did. If you're putting the card near your cell phone or computer, you could be messing with the magnetic stripe.
