Why do my outdoor cats have thick saliva all around their mouths?

not sure if they're sick or if it's due to the heat (i live in mexico). they seem to be eating, not sure about drinking enough water though. thought that being dehydrated might be the problem.

  1. Is it foamy? If so, they may have Rabies. I would talk to your vet to be safe. But, yes, drinking lots of water especially in a hot climate is important. Because you live in mexico, to keep them cool, brush them often so they have less hair and don't shed as much.


  2. Dehydration sounds about right but you may want to have them tested for rabies if they arent vaccinated. if they dont have shelter to get away from the heat you may want to do that for them since they will want to stay inside in the afternoons. provide them water there and if you can change the water twice a day
