Why do my parents care so much about...?

my stupid room being clean. i mean come on, my mom bought me 2 new cds, the jonas brothers " a little bit longer" and the maine "cant stop, wont stop" the other day when i asked her to, and she wont give them to me until i CLEAN MY FREAKING ROOM. whats her problem?? why wont she just give me my cds?? who cares about my room? its just gonna get messy again, whats the big deal?? why does she care about my room so freaking much??

Well lets see you dont pay rent,you dont buy your own food..she bought you 2 cd's just cuz..so the least you could do is "clean your freaking room".Im a mom trust me i know..

Because even though it's your room, it's apart of HER house. Just keep your room clean and you'll get what you want...plain and simple (:

She doesn't want you to grow up into a nasty slob and expect her to come over to your house when you are 35 to clean it for you. Responsibility is why she wants it clean and WON'T give you those CDS until it is. Everything is life is not free and that is the moral she is tryin to teach you.

Just clean the dang room...whats the big deal? When it gets messy again she is just gonna tell you to clean it again...so why not just clean it and whenever you get something out,put it back up so by the end of the week you are not stuck with c**p up to your knees and your mom yelling at you to clean it all up!

or at least thats the excuse i get. but then again, its thier house, so technically thier rules. you can really do much, so just deal with them unti your 18, then move out!

Because its showing her you are responsible. when you have a  house, nobodys gonna clean it for you. I HATE clening my room but I did clean it really well a few months ago and its still pretty clean- it wasnt hard and it was worth it. you just have to not be lazy and put things back.

My mom is the same, she wants my room to be spot-less. I just put on my ipod, computer, or talk on my phone...and finish cleaning my room.

Theres no real way to get around it, she'll probably won't understand the whole ' Its just gonna get messy again'.

I tryed explaining it to my mom, and then she started asking me "So what you're telling me, is you want to be a pig?"

So, I sighed and told her I'd be cleaning my room.

Best thing to do, just clean it and be done with it.

Why don't you just keep your room clean? What is the big deal? Why can't you just keep your room clean all the time? Then you wouldn't have problems like this.

One of the jobs of a mother is to teach her children how to be responsible adults.

When my children were 3 or 4 they helped to set the table and make their beds.

When they were 5 or 6 they could empty the garbage bins in the house and they could help pull weeds in the garden.

When they were 7 or 8 they learned to load & unload the dishwasher and how to fold laundry.

When they were 9 or 10 they learned how to cook simple meals and take out the trash.

When they were 11 or 12 they learned how to do laundry and make their own doctor and dental appointments.

What your mother is doing is helping you to become a capable, useful member of adult society, to learn to keep your own personal space clean and tidy so that you can function in the outside world.

what do you care about the Cd's so much that you would actually clean the room!!

I mean it is only 2 CD's what is the big deal!!

Buy the way if you are under 18 years old then by law you have no right to own anything and do not that is why you can not make a will up as you own nothing it is all your parents so get over yourself

Probably because she wants her house to look nice. Yes, it is your space, but it is her house, and I would just do what she asks if you want your cds! I hope this helps! : )
