I've been making them in the microwave for as long as I can remember now. but in the past like 3 weeks everytime, they come out really white looking & it doesn't taste near as good, sometimes its just plain nasty.

I cook them for 3-4 minutes & thats what I've always done. I haven't been doing anything differently.

whats the deal?!?!

  1. because their 1$ for 5 of them you get what you pay for!

  2. if u buy the cup ramen, their different from the packet ones where u actual boil water then add noodles. i never microwave my noodles either the cup ramen or boiling, i always boil water then add for cup ramen, or boil water and add noodles in the pot. if ur noodles are white then ur probably adding too much water.

  3. good ramen noodles go to the Olympics

  4. you are cooking off the starch, try cooking them for a lesser amount of time.

  5. of course they are nasty!

what the h**l do you expect for 10 cents!

  6. did you change brands?

I use Maruchan. They are the best, I think. I make them the same way you do, but I only put them in for 3 minutes, I think 4 makes them too mushy.

  7. Your microwave oven may be a part of the issue.

You could always try making them the traditional way.

Put a pot of water on your stove (on HIGH) and wait for the water to boil. Then, put in the noodles and set your timer for 3 and a half minutes. WHen your timer goes off, take the pot off of the stove, after giving them a quick stir. Then, put ALL of the noodles in a bowl, and then add noodle water (As much as you want) to taste. Then add the WHOLE packet of seasoning (This will have a LOT of sodium... but oh well.) to the mixture. Add 2 ice cubes and enjoy.

Maybe your microwave is old... you may want to consider getting a new one.

    Good Luck! :o)
