iv read some questions about this already but it doesnt aswer my question. iv had it for about a year now. when i touch the back of my ribs it is extreme pain. my md told me to lose weight and get a breast reduction. iv had large breast all my life. why is it just now hurting?.i have other back problems like large knots. when my husband rubs my back to help the pain it just makes it worse. i cant deel with the pain. i was thinking it was fibrmyalgia, beacause i have other spots that feel the same but not as bad. when i looked up pressure points for fibromyalia none were in the same spots. i think the md thinks im faking but its real. the pain is ruining my life. PLEASE HELP.

  1. I don't know, but I have the same problem. My ribs hurt so much when my husband just lightly touches them. He can't rest his hand on my side or anywhere where it touches a rib. They hurt in the back, front, and sides. If you find out, let me know.

  2. OK, you need to go to the hospital. You can't live like that.

  3. If the pain is localized to your back and since you've only had it for a year as opposed to your entire life its most likely not fibromyalgia. There is a good chance that it is related to your b*****s or weight for which it is not uncharacteristic for  pain to not develop until later in life. Why don't you go see another doctor, if you really think it is fibromyalgia then see a neurologist, rheumatologist, and/or sleep medicine specialist and they should be able to figure this out more conclusively. Keep in mind you don't want to be treated for something you don't have, especially if all you needed was exercise or a minimally invasive procedure.
