Question:

Why do my speakers seem to cause my battery to die?

I own a vw passat and had to replace the radio after the heater core exploded and caused damage to the original. Since replacing it (could be coincidental), my battery has repeatedly died when I allow the car to sit more than a day without driving it. While trying to figure out what was going on I realized there's a faint buzz that comes through the speakers even after the car is shut off, keys out of the ignition. Obviously there is electricity still making it to the speakers even after the car is off, which stands to reason is causing the battery to die. Anyone know how to go about fixing this? This is driving me crazy!

  1. Do you have an amp in the car? If you do is the light on when the car is off ? the amp is getting constant power witch could give  power to the amp  if  so it tells

me that you cave a cd player and the remote wire could be connected to the main power from the cd player insted of the wire going to the back of the deck

Just make sure the remote wire fom the amp is connected to the remote wire of the deck

  2. Your head unit (the radio itself) is getting constant power.  when it was installed the main power wire was not connected the the accessory power switch (power supplied to accessories when the key is inserted).  Go to a car stereo shop and have them fix it.  It would only take them about 15 or 20 minutes and it should be cheap.  If you know someone who has knowledge of car stereos then they could do this easily.

  3. i think your speaker life wire is grounded (touch the body)

some where between player and speaker .take of the connection and listenning the buzz from speaker
