I bought a bad of Costco stir fry veggies and under the ingredients the sugar snap peas have a little TM symbol next to it. Also at the bottom it says the company who trademarked the peas. Does this mean genetic engineering or something? How can a company trademark a peapod that grows from nature?

  1. They dont come from the ground sorted, washed and bagged..it takes a company to do that.

  2. hmmmmmmmmmm.....very interesting....i must give you a star!

  3. Many fruits and vegetables are trademarked. If you develop a new fruit or vegetable through GE or just cross breeding you can trademark and patent it.
