Question:

Why do my tires wear out so fast?

The tires only have 10,000 miles on them but they are already worn to the point that they need to be replaced. It has an even worn so it's probably not the suspension.

  1. My husband says a lack of proper air poundage.

  2. Cheap tires will wear fast.  Agressive cornering, braking, and accelerating will make them wear out fast.  Also, tires with a soft rubber compound will wear out fast.  If any of these describe you.........

  3. Not enough info here to really give you a definite answer, though many possibilities.

First, the tires themselves... depending on what tires you have, 10k miles could be very long life.  Most high performance tires will wear out around the 10k mark (as where cheap tires tend to be quite hard and will last a long time).  Check the treadwear rating on your tires for a clue as to how long they might last... if you find a low number (anything under 100 would be very low, and anything under 200 could be a cuplrit) and you have even wear all the way down, this is the likely cause.

Secondly, the setup of the tires and your car... if you have an aggressive alignment (lots of negitive camber and neutral toe or toe out), or one that has just fallen out of alignment, you could easily see uneven wear.  Also in this area would be how much pressure you are running in your tires... over inflation and under inflation will both cause excessive wear (over inflation causes more wear on the centerline of the tire's tread, while under inflation will wear the inside and outside shoulders more).

And lastly, the driver... how are you driving?  More aggressive driving will cause the tires to wear faster, and very aggressive driving will wear out tires very quickly.

  4. Incorrect tyre pressure,bad tracking.

bad driving habits..Accelerating too quickly and braking too quickly

  5. stop racing

  6. how do you drive?  jackrabbit starts and stops?

  7. improper alignment, improper tire pressure, worn suspension parts. if they are worn even go back and have them warrantied out

  8. Because you  do too much burnouts.
