  1. I have been known to wear corn rows,or my hair in a bun.I've seen women cut their hair really short, and men wear it long. It's just personal preference I think.Thoe I think the 'white' world has a little to do with it.

  2. They don't.

  3. Since not all Native Americans do this, I suspect that it is out of convenience or appreciation of the hair style.

  4. In my family the men/males have long hair.

Most of the men wear their hair in a ponytail.

One wears his hair loose but, his girlfriend sometimes braids it in a single french braid in the back.

The young boys have 3 braids. The center section of hair on the top of their head is pulled back and braided, then the sides are braided.

Only a very few men it this area wear their hair in 2 braids. I can only think of one.

The girls seldom braid their hair, usually only for a pow wow. They usually wear it loose or in a ponytail for sports activities.

    It's just personal preference.

  5. Some real die-hard traditionalist from some tribes still do 2 braids. Most Indian people who wear their hair long pony-tail it or 1 braid down the back or just loose. Hair styles depend alot on where you're from, who your people are and how old you are.

  6. That isn't even true.  They often wear their hair in one braid, or no braid at all.  I've never seen anyone walking around with 3 or 5 braids.
