Why do nme label any band that has a guitar "indie"?

Because they are clueless and essentially just publish what the record companies pay them to write.

I agree about Rolling Stone and Kerrang too. Kerrang is very musically small-minded and Rolling Stone is just c**p.

Personally, I like Plan B magazine a lot. It seems to cover pretty much everything, from obscure underground bands to relatively mainstream stuff.

I've never heard of nme, but any so called music magazine claiming a guitar is "indie" sucks harder than Monica Lewinsky.

Hard-Fi, for example should not be labelled indie. They should be labelled SHITE!!!
