Question:

Why do non-Christians feel a need to constantly misrepresent Christianity in order to reject it?

I am constantly reading questions that deal with some version of "This is what Christianity says (fill in the blank with some exaggerated or misrepresented view of Christianity). Why would I believe anything so stupid, hurtful, mean, etc?"

Why do non-Christians have a need to skewer Christian beliefs in order to ridicule or deny Christianity? What is it about Christianity that makes people seem to have such a strong need to twist its beliefs in order to deny it?

  2. I'm trying to be respectful here - BUT I've been stalked, sacked, harassed & worse by the more "froth at the mouth" Fundy Xian element.

This is NOT an attempt to "skewer Xian beliefs" - because each of those Wackjobs firmly believed they had a "(Xian) god given right" to force their opinion onto my family.

I really think you ought to redirect your question to those who believe they are Xian, but act very non-Xian like and destroying the reputation of EVERYONE in your faith.

Because simply Denouncing them as "non-Xian" is only compounding the problem.

& to all the Thumbs Downers I recognise and respect the Moderate & Cultural Xians out there & constantly try to NOT judge the whole faith based on the Bigoted actions of a handful of hate mongering Zealots.

  3. Christianity is following Christs teachings.  Jesus taught peace, forgiveness etc.....

Atheists are always confused saying tat religion causes wars and kills people.  Satan is behind these things not God. .... Jesus isnt religious.

    Christianity isnt religion.

  4. Maybe it's the same need that christians have to twist, exaggerate and falsify the beliefs and practices of other religions in order to deny them?

  5. Oh, please allow me to reassure you: I don't need to 'twist' anything about Christianity in order to explain why I personally don't adhere to it. I'm not aware of anyone else who has done so either but of course, feel free to provide some examples?

In fact, in my own humble experience, the ONLY people who 'twist' another religion are the group of evangelical Christians who go round posing as "messianic jews" in order to try and blur the lines between the two faiths. They are liars as some 90% of them were NEVER Jewish at any point in their lives.

  6. Go to this site:

www.exposingchristianity.com and you will find the TRUTH about Christianity and all those similar religions (Judaism,Islam).

  7. The answer lies with Satan. Remember how he approached our Lord and offered him many things after the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. Satan actually quoted, or misquoted to be precise, passages of Scripture to make his case. He does exactly the same thing today. Those who misrepresent Christianity are nothing more than Satan's mouthpieces.

  8. Maybe because deep down they are actually afraid!

  9. LOL. Sweetpea, you should look at the ways that Christianity has misrepresented Judaism for nearly 2000 years.

I don't misrepresent Christianity. Christianity misrepresents itself.

  10. Do you want to know the truth or do you want to believe in mythology?

If you want the truth  watch this, if you want to keep believing in mythology don't watch.

  11. I don't know that it is entirely deliberate.  There are a lot of lies and rumors circulating out there and sometimes people take what they hear for granted without researching it and then repeat it, especially when it fits in so well with their preconceived notions.

  12. You have any examples? One would be nice.

Christianity has misrepresented and attacked all other faiths almost since its inception. Christianities we are right and everyone else is wrong worldview invites mockery and hostility.
